I like story time. Here's my story.
Hi, I'm Dixie Engman. I've been a Natural Nail Artist for 10 years. My business has changed names many times as I evolved in the beauty industry. Nails by Dixie, Natural Nails by Dixie, NAIL'DiT, and now Just For You.
I started "NAIL'DiT" in May of 2020 as a new start right after the non-essential shut down. I moved into a charming building on 5 points round about with two incredibly talented and seasoned hairdressers Dee Ponkauskas and Carol Heatherly. I rented half of the building as a booth renter. It felt like home and Dee and Carol my family. The opportunity to purchase the building from the gentleman my salon owner was leasing from was always an option of the table. That was an option my business recovering from the financial damage of the pandemic couldn't quite afford. Only 18 short months after I moved to this location a gentleman with a bigger dream purchased the building. After a good cry and a few conversations with God, I wholeheartedly wish him great success in his endeavors.
Those 18 months was dream I built in my head too big for my means. Tell God your plans and see how it goes. God gave me a family in that move. Dee and Carol mean so much to me. Our original plan was when Dee retired I would acquire Just For You. In a less than ideal timing for both of us this major change happened.
I want to give credit were credit is very much due. Just For You Hair Salon was owned and operated by Dee Ponkauskas for 25 years. Dee is a hairstylist of over 50 years and counting. I will never fill the shoes of her accomplishments.
After the shock of our news, I reached out to the owner of the building I previously leased a suite in to see if a suite was available. 45 minutes later we looked at the suite that would become our new home. With Dee's blessing I opened Just For You right at the beginning of 2022. Our new address is 356 Sanderson St., Suite A1, Alcoa, TN 37701. We in building called Midland Towers. Our suite is on the top floor. Our doors are the far right 2 store front doors.
